When I started cloth diapering a few months ago, I decided to play by the rules, do a LOT of research, and settled on using "proper" detergent--Rockn Green for hard water. Eventually (within a couple months) my microfiber inserts and pocket diapers ended up smelling like a barn after the smallest amount of wetness. Naturally, I ran out and bought Funk Rock after the rave reviews I'd heard. After following the instructions to a "t" over 3 times and wasting a ton of water, my diapers still smelled gross and my son ended up developing a rash and ammonia burn. After even more research on a cloth diapering forum, I discovered the problem was the detergent wasn't actually cleaning my diapers and I had nasty buildup. Long story slightly shorter, I had to resort to bleaching my inserts and going to the "dark side" and switching to commercial detergent...and my diapers haven't smelled this clean since I first prepped them! This product works for some people splendidly, but just be aware it doesn't work for everybody, especially if you have really hard water.
